P4, 256 MB machine running Windows XP Pro. Two interesting problems.
1-After computer has entered stand-by (I always thought this was called “hibernate”, but that is apparently the machine powering itself down?) and the HD stops spinning. When I move the mouse around or hit a key to try to “wake it”, it seems to have a difficult time. Eventually the HD clicks and I see some activity, but then nothing. After a couple seconds it usually comes back. Overall, it just seems to kind of struggle with this and I was wondering if it means something.
2-I have two USB ports built in. On power-up I almost always need to take the devices out and put them back in to get them to function (a mouse and a midi keyboard). What would cause this?
