workstation instability

I have a workstation connected to our LAN,at a point in time it worked however just some few weeks now its been acting up in that it see the Network but cannot aces the internet.it will do so for a few minutes before disconneting itself again.it might help to say that i have it on manually asigned IP for now.what can normalise this situation.

I would assume that you were using DHCP before. If you go into your Internet Options either from the Control Panel or from the Tools, Internet Options on the Toolbar. You should then choose your Choose your Connections Tab and go into LAN Settings. Once in there, make sure the option is ticked to Automatically Detect Settings. If you use a Proxy Server, you should then tick the box, enter the IP Address of the Proxy and then tick the box to By Pass the Proxy Server for local addresses. Letme know how you get on.
