Workstation loses access to mapped drives and printers

by damien.lefevre . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

Hi fellows,

We have a Win2k3 R1 Standard server which acts as a domain controller, DHCP server, exchange server, file server, and IIS server.

I’m having problem with one workstation on a domain. Randomly, often in the morning, it loses the access to the mapped folders and the printers on our server. I still am able to connect with Outlook or browse the webmail, SharePoint? but when I try to browse the shared folders, I get prompt the user authentication dialog. The authentication always fails.

If I boot the workstation I get an error with the startup script that adds automatically the printer with a ?VB 800A0046 – permission denied?. The mapped folders remain disconnected and it is impossible to reconnect them. When starting Outlook it also asks the username and password but it is a single sign-on method, so it shouldn?t ask nether.

After 2 or 3 reboots, I?ll eventually will get back the connectivity

The DHCP server delivers a 2 days lease. But the problem occurs within one day. So far, I have put a static IP to remove variables, checked the firewall, check the printers script?

I?m stuck there and it is a only machine doing this in the network.

Has anybody faced this kind of situation and what was the fix?

Thank you for any help
