Workstation Service Failure

by jgutfreu . Updated 23 years, 11 months ago

We have a Windows NT 4.0 workstation with SP6a installed. We are running on a Novell Network V4.11 and using the NWclient V4.11b. The workstation has the IP and IPX protocols installed. We need to use the windows network for some connectivity for applications and the workstation service is failing. Sometimes a shutdown/restart gets it running again, but not always. The event log error starts with Event ID:3113 – Initialization failed because the requested service redirector could not be startedand then is followed with Event ID: 7024 – The Workstation service terminated with service-specific error 2250, and Event ID: 7001 – The Computer Browser service depends on the Workstation service which failed to start because of the following error:
The service has returned a service-specific error code, and finally Event ID: 7001 – The Messenger service depends on the Workstation service which failed to start because of the following error:
The service has returned a service-specific error code.
