Would like to upgrade hard drive

By leaundrae ·
Hello,
I would like to upgrade my hard drive and I was told that I need and IDE hard drive. What is IDE? Also how do you get your BIOs to auto-detect the new hard drive?

Thanks,
Leaundrae Shepherd

IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) is a standard electronic interface used between a computer motherboard's ... computer's disk storage devices

You need to enter the bios by pressing the designated key which can be seen on screen at startup in lower left corner.you have to press this the ley when you see the startup screen
Once the bios screen appears,at Advanced tab, then you want select the drives, highlight drive press the page up of dowm arrow key to select auto detect.
If you have manual plese use it or reference the manufacturer web site it should present documntation to change bios settings
