WPA2 GPO issue

By kshah ·
I need help with WPA2 GPO. We have windows server 2003 SP2 DC with IAS. I can deploy GPO with WPA but I need to get WPA2. Per MS I am creating GPO from the vista PC and have extended the wireless schema for the AD. But client is not able to see the GPO. I have used following two article from MS website for the configuration.

For the Schema Extension http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727029.aspx
For the Vista wireless evaluation Guide
http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsVista/en/library/f0b0d1fd-6dff-46a2-8e6a-bdd152d2337f1033.mspx?mfr=true

Same Boat

I've been struggling with this for a couple of days now, as well. Not sure what is going on, but a little frustrated with the so-called WPA2 capability promoted with WIN2K3 SP2.

Also, I noticed that the Trusted Root Security Authority I was going to use is not listed using the Vista workstation. I'm sure that will be another huge endeavor to figure out.

Problem Solved

Well, I have to admit, I had to refer to Group Policies 101 and pull my head out of my rear. The problem I had was caused by applying a GP to an OU with a security group rather than individual users accounts. It won't work that way (wish it could).

Also, the Certificate Authority was simply an import into the security settings of the GP. Easy as pie.

By the way

The only way I could create the GP and make it work was to use the gpmc.msc. I discovered my mistakes using the modeling feature that's pretty cool.
