Wrap Around in Start\Program on Win 98

By Dave at Work ·
When the number of programs listed un Start\Programs is longer than the screen, the listing continues off the screen. What switch or key will cause the listing to wrap around?
Thanks.

Increase the resolution if you are at 800x600 goto 1024x768 that will make the menu more readable. If you are already at max resolution then adding submenu's like utility- put all adobe, virus scan etc into it. If you create enough submenu's you can shrink the size of the initial menu to a useable size. Submenu's (games, internet, etc).

Thanks for the idea. It's not quite what I want. I know that there is a registry switch that causes wrap around in the Programs menu. I read about it in some tech hint and used it on a machine at home. However, I didn't record the note, subsequently had to reformat the drive and so lost the switch.

That's a feature of 98. Do the suggestion of the previous poster of making sub menus and move the programs into there so you don't have to scroll or just leave it alone.

Thanks again for the suggestions. I did more research and found the following:

Add a String Value to the this regitry entry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Advanced

The String Value is "StartMenuScrollPrograms"="False"

Then of course Restart. This will cause the scrolling.
