Wrong DNS Name on Win2000 install

by bmyers . Updated 24 years, 4 months ago

OOPS! I made the mistake of using my registered internet name as the domain name for my new Win2000 PDC upgrade. This is an internally numbered network and our DNS is handled by ISP. I know this can work if you monkey with DNS zones, etc, but I wantto start over and have a different domain name for the internal network.

Can I remove Active Directory from this domain controller and reinstall AD and still pickup my user accounts, etc.? As it stands now, I have the upgraded PDC and a BDC. Thatis all I have for DC’s.

What would be the best course of action for me. I can’t be the only one that has made this mistake.
Thanks
