Wrong W2K domain name

By Chorlton ·
I have just taken over as Network Administrator at a small company. The W2K server has an incorrect domain name set up, (non DNS), this means that only pre W2K clients can connect to it. How do I change the domain name without rebuilding it?

Wrong W2K domain name

Hi, try this:
To manage the domain using a different domain controller
1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
2. In the console tree, right-click the Active Directory Users and Computers node, and then click Connect to Domain Controller.
3. Click on a domain controller in the list.
Or, in Change to, type the name of the domain controller.
Notes
? To open Active Directory Users and Computers, click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.

I gave you more information than you probably needed, but step 3 seems to be what you are looking for. Hope so anyway. I hope this helps.
