Hi,

Can you tell us some more about the circumstances in which it happens? For instance what program is running at the time? Or is it seemingly random? Is it repeatable?

Did it start at some point or has it always been like that?

What version of Windows do you have?

Cheers,
Tim.

WScript is the windows script host. Try updating windows (Windows Update at microsoft) to get the latest patches and DLLs/fixes, etc.
Many worms use wscript. You may also want to run an anti-virus checker on your system, too, to make sure it isn't caused by a latent worm lying around.

There is about 1500 users accross the country and about 200 systems have this problem. They are running Win95 and Win98 and none of our 2000 or Xp systems are having this problem.
This happens at boot up as soon as the desktop comes up.
Thanks,
Jehu.

What kind of virus protection do you have? Could it be that you have a virus?

It sounds to me that your KERNEL32.DLL has become corrupted.

Under Win98, run SFC and replace the KERNEL32.DLL with the one in the CAB files.

Under Win95 it is more difficult. You'll have to extract the KERNEL32.DLL file from the CAB file manually and replace it in DOS mode.
