WSUS 3.0 multiple clients appearing as one object

We have 3 different workstation images for different departments. Images are syspreped before they are ghosted to new machines, which resets the SID. All images are running Windows XP SP2 with varying application suites installed.

However one of our images is displaying strange behavior; in WSUS all PC’s with this image appear as one PC, and as they check in I have observed the single PC object in WSUS cycle through the different names and states of all the PC’s with this image.

I have tried reseting the SID with the newsid tool but this has no effect.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Its not a huge problem because all the PC’s with this image do actually receive updates, but it does remove the ability to track them individually which isn’t practical.
