WTF? Why does everything suck?

Windows XP will not allow me to enter my BIOS upon start up. I have rebooted 100 times now each time using a different key to try to enter the BIOS. Prior to the installation of XP, the “F1” key was used multiple times to open the BIOS. After installation, my sound doesn’t work and the BIOS is not able to be entered. I don’t want to pull any batteries or anything. Is there a way to just simply destroy Microsoft and start using Linux? I mean, is there any other ways to enter a BIOS?
