X-ed mapped drive

I have an NT serer and 2000 clients.
On ONE machine as soon as I create a mapped drive it has a red X trhough it. But I am still able to access it and save files to it after I recieve the message “An errort occured when connecting to F:….THe local device name is already in use”.

Any ideas ?
