      Hello,

I have worked with the Java-based XML and access to a MySQL database, and when I was doing the work, it was something called SAX and was the only parser that was viable. Now, it seems that Sun has delivered a new parser and DOM set, calledJAX. See http://www.javasoft.com/features/2000/12/xml-java.html and http://www.javasoft.com/xml/readme.html for a better detail on the issues. The functionality seems identical to me at this point. Apache (ASF) has another solution, evidently to work in conjunction with the other projects living under the shadow of the preeminant web server. The information you may find at http://xml.apache.org/ should be helpful with this. I would recommend you look into Cocoon, which is an open-source Java/XML publishing framework, to be found at http://xml.apache.org/cocoon/index.html. I know many instances were found in my project where a framework speeded development time and ultimate delivery.

      kindly,
      -rory
