XP and SP1 installation

By gregori65 ·
Something I've never seen before. When I tried to install service pack 1a on a XP machine, I got the error message saying that my CD key is invalid and the installation terminates. I even reinstalled XP using another licence key (which I am sure is valid), but, again, when I install SP1 I got the same messagge. Any Idea????
Thanks for your help...

Hey guys..
this is the serial key (pirated). you can change the serial number with one of the below.. please check out.. you can install with any serial number. but SP1 detects most of the pirated key and it wont allow to install. so please go the and do appropriately.. i did that and installed sp1

WinXP SP Change Product Key without Reinstall:

You won't have to worry about it for months, since SP1 won't
ship until September or so. But there's this procedure that allows you to change your key. Use one of
the corporate keys generated from the keygen that's been
floating around for several months.

Change Product Key without Reinstall:

1. Run regedit and go to:
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current
Version\WPAEvents, on the right double click on "oobetimer"
and change at least one digit of this value to deactivate windows.

2. Choose run from start menu and type in this command:
%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a to get the
activation screen and go to the second option which is
activate by phone.

3. In the new screen choose the option to change product
key, and type in the new product key (Corporate one only)***.

4. Close that window, reboot your system and enter the
command in step 2 for the second time to verify your
activation , you should see "windows is already activated".
