XP Can't access

okay
the first thing you want to check is if the drive letter has been renamed. right click my computer or net nghbrhd and select "map network drive". you aren't going to map a drive but you will check the drop menu with the letter "Z" to see if "D" is available as a selection.if it is, then you know that "D" is not assigned as a local drive.now pay attention to what letters are NOT in the list. write them down besides "A, B, C. the missing letter is the name of your "D" drive.

Have you tried Disk Management?

Right click My Computer>Manage>Disk Management

Which disk is giving the problems? Since you stated 2 different it would help to ID the problem disk, probably 0 or 1. Keep in mind it is telling you the size of the disk(s) in question so that should be a quick way to help you identify it.
Is it setup as Basic or Dynamic? More than likely it is Basic. At this point that is what I am assuming.
You should have your partion(s) listed to the right side of the problem disk. In the paritions should be the drive letters. Are they missing? You could try right clicking the partition missing the letter and select "change drive letter". If it is listing correctly you could change the letter and then change it back to or whatever you wish.

If this starting information does not get you to a solution, please post the answers to the questions listed and I(we) will be able to continue assisting you.

Good Luck,

David
