XP cd won’t boot with Sata drive attached

Here is a nice one. I bought a new pc and installed it. First i tought everything was fine but there where some troubles with my XP intallation. I decided to start over again but there it whent really wrong. My new XP installation was corrupt and failed to boot at all. I tought, no problem, i’ll just boot from CD and fixt the corrupt files. But unfortunatly after checking for the hardware configuration the screen goes black and stays that way. I messed around a bit but couldnt get it to boot up properly. Then i discovered it would boot up if i disconnected my SATA drive. And this happens to be just the disk i want to use.

Anyone know what the problem can be?
