XP Clock

The system clock on my XP home edition keeps stopping when I power off can any one help ( I have changed the battery )

What do you mean "stopping"?

And what battery have you changed? The bios/cmos battery? As long as you don't unplug it, that shouldn't matter. Can you provide more details?

The clock stops at the time I turn the power off
IE unplug the computer from the manes
I have changed the battery on the mother board but this did not work?
As I use the clock & the date in my work I need it to work...

Did you TEST the new battery?

Some of them sit on the shelf for a LONG time.

That is the sign of a faulty M'Board

You can try replacing the BIOS Chip but the problem is likely to be in the RTC or a cracked track to the IC that contains the RTC so this generally requires replacing the M'Board to cure.
