XP computers and Citrix

By plarson ·
We have recently encountered problems with Windows XP Pro computers that access our network through Citrix. Suddenly, when the user logs on to Citrix, everything runs very slow, when there are been no problems previously. There will be a very noticeable delay in opening/closing files, and for typed characters to actually appear on the screen. I searched Microsoft web site and found an article regarding a hot fix for this very issue. But the hot fix made the problem worse and we had to reformat the computer's hard drive. After that, everything works fine. Has anybody else experienced this and if so, how did you solve it?

A few questions:

1. What variant of Citrix are you using....for example, MetaFrame XPa SP3 FR3?
2. What client version are you using to connect to your Citrix server...for example, Program Neighborhood v 9.0?
3. What's the communication method used to connect to the server...DSL, cable, dialup?

We are using MetraFrame version 1.80, on a Windows 2000 server. We do plan to upgrade our MetraFrame version very soon. We have regularly applied all Windows 2000 server updates. The client is Program Neighborhood 9.0. FYI--when the problem first arose, it was a previous version of Program Neighborhood so we tried upgrading to the newest version. It didn't make any difference. The users connect to our Citrix Server via a Frame Relay T1 line.
