XP copy paste/auto complete = NOT

We are bringing on laptops with XP pro and it seems that the auto complete, and ESPECIALLY the in-line copy/cut and paste functions do not work. This is hard – esp on the web where email addresses and passwords must now be firstly remembered and then entered each time. Any tips on how to fix or turn this fuction on would be deeply appreciated.
