XP default folder

By Bouchie ·
Is there a way to change the default folder for Windows XP from 'My Documents' (highly annoying) to the place where I actually put MY documents? I'm running Windows XP Pro V5.1 SP1.

Well, Microsoft is trying to get everyone to use "standard" locations for files.
This can simplify and reduce support costs.

That said,
Right click on the My Documents icon on the desktop.
Select properties.
On the Target tab, click on move.
You can relocate and rename My Documents.

Keep in mind that some programs will ONLY use My Documents for files.
They may create a new My Documents folder when run or installed.

I know about that customization, but it still leaves the "My Documents", "My Pictures", etc. even though it's actually in Folder A. I'm trying to make it open the Save, etc. dialogs and actually show Folder A instead of My Documents.

I've not seen anything in TweakUI that will do this.
