XP does not detect cd wirter 8200i serie

I had a Pentium II with win98 and the CD-writer8200i works fine.My Company supply me with a new Pentium 4 with Windows XP pro.
The BIOS and windows 2000 detects the CD-writer but not XP.
The cd writer is not displayed in the device manager at all.
The CDwriter is installed on the secondary IDE & we have change
the jumper settings from Master to Slave to Cable Select as well
but Xp still doesn’t detect the cdwriter.
The only software installed is the software from the HP site Recordnow &the software doesn’t detect the cdwriter either.
Please help.
