I have a machine with Windows XP, I think sp2.
I shut down the machine through the normal shutdown menu, I have no automatic updates and have not downloaded or updated anything recently.
Upon rebooting, I do not get the option to start in safe mode or with last known configuration. I enter my PW. Nothing is loaded past my wallpaper. I can get task manager with ctr+alt+delete. CPU usage is 1 or 2 percent.
Any Ideas how I can get past this? I’ve rebooted several times, also tried with OS disk to “FIXBOOT” but this did not help.
