XP file permissions

By mike_m ·
Sorry if this is a nonsense, but this is my first attempt on XP.
Is there any way of setting file/folder security/ownership on XP NTFS ?
I just can't find anywhere the usual file/property/security/permissions .... user .. privilege etc that I am using on NT and 2K since several years.
Note: this is a stand alone XP PRO, only network is internet and want to share folders (which I did with NET SHARE name=path and works), but can't make it to apply different privileges to different users.
Thank you.

Open up Windows Explorer. From there, select the drop-down menu "Tools". And then from there, select "Folder Options...". Then when the "Folder Options" window opens, select the tab "View". Scroll down to the bottom and uncheck "Use Simple File Sharing". After that, select "Ok" to exit. Now you will be able to place "Security" on folders and files for each user on your system.

Yes, that's what I meant. It took me 2 weeks to solve this.
Nobody here ever did it on XP: Thank you. Mike.
