By lance.harbison ·
Can Win XpHome Edition Be set up to Login in to a NT server 4.0 sp6a, in a similar was as win 98. I keep reading about having to have xp Pro to login into yhre domain. Is there a work around for this or another solution to this with out upgrading?

Yes you are suppose to have pro for domain support. But maybe you could try creating a script for the home edition to logon to specfic network shares. Make the default user of the home a valid network user name ie john with its password the same as the network pwd. Then edit a batch file START RUN CMD then edit logon.bat in the batch create mappings to the shares
NET USE F: /D /Y
NET USE F: \\server\folder /user:domain\username {pwd} <cr> this should connect to the domain share using the valid domain user acct. hope this does it for you.
