XP Home in Domain

By daniel_ohara1989 ·
Hello,
I am soon to be creating a network and i have been trying to figure out how make XP Home join a domain in preperation for my Network. I have read articles about XP Home and Domains and they really don't seem to go well with each other. I want people to try this to see if this works. People want to logon to a Domain server and all profiles are roaming, forgive me if i'm wrong. So if you configure a local acount to get it's roaming profile from a server then you should have all the network stuff on it. Tweak UI also allows auto login to a domain but i have heard its not very good but in conjunction with that it should work shouldn't it? NCS Account view let's you change profiles by the way.

XP Home is not capable of joining a domain. You'll have to go with Pro if you want to use a domain.

Cheers.

The same subject was hashed around a few weeks ago. See link for more info:

Bottom line is that XP Home cannot really join a domain.

XP Home is for home users (hence the word Home) who do not usually have servers installed or Domain Controllers. You NEED XP Pro, plain and simple.
