    XP Home To Pro

    Locked

    by chugeniv ·

I have been using an evaluation disk of XP Home given to me by a friend – twp days to go.

I also purchased my own copy of XP Pro (a complete install).

Can I just install the ‘Pro’ over the ‘Home’ – I don’t care about data loss since I was just evaluating the ‘Home’ version.

    Thanks for your time,
    Bob

A complete install (including reformatting the HD)is usually preferred over an upgrade when data loss is of no concern.

sure just run disk either from desktop to do a clean install or upgrade install if it is a upgrade disk. If the disk is a full xp pro just insert disk at startup let load follow prompts and there u have it xp pro. You may want install from the desktop if you never did install from startup it could be tricky for you if you never done it.
