Xp Home vs. Xp Professional

I have looked everywhere what is the difference between them exactly broken down for an idiot
I looked all over microsofts web site no good.

XP Home is geared mainly towards the home user. It maintains that same level that was in Windows 98 SE. XP Professional includes all the neccessary tools to set up and mantain a network. While the Home Edition is capable of rudimentary networking, Professional doesn't leave out the advanced options.

Most home users don't have a need for networking or advanced tools to tweak the system that is in the Professional Edition.

It depends on what you want to do. If you're networking machinesat home, go for the Professional Edition. If it's going to be standalone... Go for the Home Edition.
