XP Install with RAID – File Not Found

by mike.brook . Updated 18 years, 8 months ago

I am installing XP SP2 Home OEM to a system that is configured for RAID 1 using the Intel SATA RAID chipset. The drivers install from floppy via F6 and the C: drive is found, formatted, and most of the XP install goes fine including the reboot and customisation dialogues.

Then towards the end of the install I get an error message stating that it can’t copy cmdprop.dll from D:\I386. If I skip this error I get similar messages for IE6 and dozens of other files.

If I install to raw disk the install goes fine. The files mentioned are all present on the DVD in their compressed form.

Any ideas?
