XP logs me off automatically

By azapata ·
I'm not sure what the problem is, but I can be logged into my machine, but after a period of inactivity, XP will automatically log me off. I have run Spysweeper, Adaware, and Spy Bot S&amp. I am running Norton AV and that is up-to-date. I haven't changed any settings. Any ideas as to what is going on here?

Thank you in advance.

Are you currently on a network? If so your computer maybe inheriting from group policies to log out after a perscribed number of minutes.

Is it logging you off, or rebooting? Is it a set time for the logoff, or is it random? Do you have auto-updates set? Please send more info,

I think I might have figured it out. I looked in the power settings of my laptop. I saw that it's set to go to standby after 25 minutes. I think that is the problem.

This will cause that to happen.

If user accounts are set up with pass words and the ?On resume, display Welcome screen? is checked in the screen saver options, that will happen.
