XP loses connection on W2K LAN

One of my XP machine loses it ability to access files and folders on LAN. It is able to access files from servers on our WAN. The user can be working or not, it doesn’t make a difference they try to access anything locally and are prompt for a password which never opens the files or folders.

If they go log on to the pc next to them they are able to access these files.
