XP network bridge- what media can join

By northwood ·
I read that windows XP can be set up as a network bridge and can connect sing different media types

What kind of media can you use or mix it with? Can you give me some examples of the different kinds of media types that work with XP bridge?

I've just recently learned about this very cool feature. I used it quite by mistake on my laptop. I was about to setup ICS and found this bridge thing, so I tried it. My laptop has a wifi card and a regular lan connection. I connect to the internet via the wifi and i was needing to setup a desktop to access the 'net but did not want to run a cable or buy a wifi card as this was a temporary setup.... so i made a crossover cable and hooked the two PCs up. i selected my local area connection and my wifi connection on my pc, right clicked and created a bridge... all of a sudden, the desktop was pulling an ip address from my wifi router.... freaking magic, i say :) i was not doing nat with ics, he was on my network! the only problem i've had is that if i connect to my vpn at work from my laptop, the bridge dies.

hope this helps.
