XP Offline files missing

By johndjauch ·
From time to time end users would try to access their offline files in their My Documents, there is nothing there. When they come back on-site, the system seems to syncronize correctly. End users say they are shutting their laptops down correctly and then disconnecting the network cable when the laptop is off. This seems to happen only with XP laptops. The server is NT.

When the users are off the network, are they logging into the domain with cache credentials or are they logging into the local machine.

If they log into the local machine, they won't see those files.

In addition, was the choice made for "Synchronize all offline files before logging off"?

They are logging in using Cached information. No end user can log in locally except IT. All laptops are set to syncronize when logging in and out of the network.
