I have a HP Desktop with XP Pro and 3 Notebooks with XP Pro. All 3 notebooks sees the files and folders on the HP desktop, but cannot open any of them. The HP desktop sees and can open all files on the notebooks. All are in the same workgroup, connected with a linksys switch.
The message is
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you
have access permissions. Not enough server storage is available to process
this command.
The advice from MS was to do the following registry change, which I did and the notebooks still not able to access files on Desktop. (i changed the parameter to the max decimal 50).
Start-Run? and type ?regedit? Once in the registry browse to ?HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ LanmanServer\Parameters? Then add a DWORD value and name it ?IRPStackSize? exactly as you see it, since the value is case sensitive. Then right click on the value and select edit. Then put in a DECIMAL value form 11 to 50.
I have run a NAV scan and adaware and spybot too.
The ?non cooperating ? desktop is wired to the Linksys and the 3 notebooks are wireless.
Any suggestions ?
