Solution I seek has me tied up. Starting computer brings up a web site of a product that wants to upgrade itself, with out allowing the program dictate, how can I eliminate, I've tried Start conf, services, but not registry, is this related to SCSI/RAID Host Controller searching for driver at start up.

Spy-Ware / MSCONFIG

The first thing I would do, is to scan for spy-ware. I use both AdAware and Spybot.

Next, if this is for software you have installed on your PC, you need to determine if you want to install the upgrade. Installing the upgrade should take care of the nag screen.

If you don't wish to install the upgrade, open the program and look for options to disable automatic updates.

If all of the above fails, run MSCONFIG from the run option on the start menu. Look at the startup tab and unselect the program.
