Hi, I have just built a new pc with an Abit IT7-Max2 motherboard, Pentium 4 2.53Ghz, 2x 512Mb DDR 266Mhz RAM and two Maxtor Max16 80Gb ATA133 hard disks. The motherboard has a Highpoint HPT374 Raid controller and there are two Pioneer cds installed (1 DVD & 1 DVD-R). The hard drives are on the Raid controller but I have tried without too. When XP Pro attempts to copy the installation files over to my hard disks (after running my latest Raid drivers), the system just hangs…no lights, error messages, beeps or anything. I can’t soft re-boot either. I have tried altering the drives (including which cd Windows disk is in but no difference. All the four drives are now on their own ide cable as masters. Sometimes it hangs at 41%, sometimes at 94%. Any one know what might be causing it? Graphics card is a Ganiward Ti 4600 and there’s a new pci modem there too. Thanks if you can help me 😉
