XP Pro Hangs on Startup.

What could cause my XP Pro system to hang for about 1 minute after clicking on my profile and logging in? I have eliminated all un-needed programs from startup, checked the event viewer… nothing seems to help. All I know is my system is at a frozen stand still for about a minute after Winxp loads.
