I have a new custom built PC on order from an on-line retailer. I ordered the PC with no O/S because some programs are not Windows 7 compatible.
I have an old Windows XP Professional sp1a (OEM Product) CD/DVD. I doubt the computer the CD was originally installed on is still in service.
Can I use this CD to install XP Pro once I receive my new PC? What are the chances it may not validate with Microsoft and I’ll have to go on-line to buy a System Builder/OEM copy from a discount retailer?
