XP Search function won’t stop

Here’s a new one on me…we have an XP Pro user who uses her search function quite often. When she finds what she wants, she clicks Stop to make it quit searching, but it just begins its search all over again. She has to close the search window to get it to stop, which doesn’t allow her to access the files she found. None of our other XP machines does this and her Viruscan is up to date. Any ideas?
