XP shutdown problem

By jkey ·
In Windows, I shutdown my computer and each time I do, it automatically reboots. I have a Dell 733 MHz with 192 megs, and a 20 gig hard drive. I didn't have this problem with Windows 2000. How can I solve this problem?

Try turning off any and all power management features in XP and see if that helps.

i agree with answer #2 also you might try to turn off the power management in the bios as well. By chance did you upgrade the w2k or a clean install. i have a policy where i work to never take a default load from Dell they install to much junk that is not needed.
