XP Shutdown question

having eventually ended up with a stable operating system, ie XP (I know there are some out there that would disagree, but it is the only OS I have got that supports my graphics card…) anyway on with my question:

When my PC was new with windows98 (first ed) choosing shutdown would turn the whole computer off, due to the ATXness of it, is there any way to get XP to do this, or am I stuck with “It is now safe to turn off your PC” hand holding exersises?
