xp slowed down after partition clone

i bought a new 640GB hdd and copied os (win xp sp3) partition of the old hdd (120GB) to the new one via norton ghost and replaced it. right now my system works too slow. i error checked the hdd but nothing changed...
what should i do?

Did you use the entire space on the new drive or did you set it to several smaller Partitions?

If you set it to several smaller Partitions it's possible that the Clone isn't on the Primary Partition particularly if the old drive had a Recovery Partition on it. When that happens the primary files needed to boot the system are no longer present and the system performs very slowly if it boots at all.

i copied partition to partition

my old drive had 3 partitions:
C: 38GB
80GB
E: 2GB (total 120GB)

I created 3 partitions in a new drive also:
C: 100GB
200GB
E: 300GB (total 600GB)

with norton ghost i chosed partition to partion copying. the old hard drive did not have recovery partition...

IDE to SATA?

Was the old drive an IDE drive and the new one SATA? You might need to update your drive controller drivers.

Did you copy the Partitions from the Primary to the last one in order that the Partitions on the Original where created?

yes, i have copied the partitions in the same order. just the partition sizes are different.
