xp task manager problems

By hi_rob ·
I am having a problem with my task manager in windows xp

I found a backdoor on my computer (irczapchast) and think I have gotten rid of it, but it seems to have disabled my task manager some how. ctrl+alt+delet does not do anyting and I also can not open it from the task bar.

I tried running taskmanagerfix but that did not work.

any suggestions.

...since regedit will not start. I've searched the system and found the exe file, but when trying to run regedit, I get a message that says that windows can't find the file.
