I have a HP Pavilion DV5000 Laptop. Windows gets to “setup is starting windows” after loading set up drivers, but freezes before pressing enter or the f8. Same thing happens with Vista, xp home, xp pro, and xp media.
I have tried differnt hard drives. Different memory, used one stick, used two, The hd is IDE, used ultimate boot disk and ran mem checks, and stress tests on the cpu. I have ran hard drive checks from the bios, and from the boot disk. It just hangs and freezes. The bios is out of date, however, the only update is a win updater (can’t get windows on the damn thing) Its a AMD Turion 64×2 4800 cpu. I am at odds with this, and this is a last chance effort to fix it.. any ideas?
