XP will not recognize ScanPort 3000

By bartlmay ·
I have downloaded and installed the driver for a ScanPort 3000 from the MicroTek site using the no longer supported section. When I go to the Control Panel and then to the Scanner section I can't get the ScanPort 3000 to install. What am I missing?

Without the Paper Port Software the Scan Port Drivers will not make the scanner actually work. Find the Paper Port Softwar on any Visioneer Scanner CD...Might be available via www.Visioneer.com, or see if Micro Tek has it. Though i think Visioneer is by Micro Tek.

Good Luck.

This computer came with XP Home. When I initially installed the scanner I did not need to install either a driver or PaperPort software. I was able to scan images using the builtin Scanner and Camera Wizard. I have since upgraded to XP Pro and since then have not been able to get the Scanner icon in the Control Panel to recognize the scanner.
