XP won’t accept cookies

I am running XP Pro on an LAN which connects to the internet through a cable modem. It used to run fine. All other PCs on the LAN function properly.

A few months ago, my IE stopped accepting cookies.A few months ago, IE stopped accepting cookies. I went through the standard routine. In the Internet Options, Advanced Privacy Settings, I selected ?Override Automatic cookie Settings?. I accepted 1st and 3rd party cookies. It did not work. I finally installed Netscape as a work around. It worked for a while, but now it won?t accept cookies either. Again, the standard routine does not resolve the problem.

I am at my wit?s end.
