XP wont access ME shared drive after ins

by casemaker . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

Hi,
I had a P2P network running W95,and 2 ME machines. All was functioning without any problems. I replaced the W95 machine with a new machine that I built running WXP Home, w Celeron 1.2GHZ. One of the Me machines acts as the server on this network. After I replace the 95 with XP this is what I ran into. The Me server can see and share the xp machine and the other Me. The second ME can see and share the ME server and the XP machine. The XP machine can see and share from the second ME machine but not the ME server. Whrn I try to connect to the shared ME server this is the error message I recieve. \\Back is not accesible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if youhave access permissions. The network path was not found.
I ran the network wizard on all machines, the computer names are unique and the workgroups are all the same. I have checked sharing on all pc. they log on in Microsoft Networking so I know they are logged in. From the workgroup box in XP when I try to map a drive, it shows the other 2 pc with plus signs next to them. When I click on the ME machine it shows the shared drives and folders, when I click on the server the + sign goes away and there are no shared items.
I am not very familiar with all the 2000 based permissions and security so if you explain how to fix this please be detailed.
Thanks
