XP won’t recognize DVD Drive

by albizu . Updated 18 years ago

I just built my pc with an Elitegourp Extreme KV2 motherboard with 2 gig RAM, a Samsun SATA SH-S203 DVD Burner and a Seagate SATA HDD (500 gig). I installed XP Home edition and it installed fine. However, when the machine boots, my DVD Rom is nowhere to be found. I’m trying to use it to install other programs, but it just won’t recognize it. The BIOS looks like no other BIOS I’ve ever seen, since it doesn’t have a listing for any CD/DVD Drives. I’m truly at a loss and hope that someone can offer some insight. Thank you.
