XP Won’t Start

Virus Nimda infected this 1 year old HP computer. I ran F-Secure’s “fsnimda3.exe” specific removal program, but now the OS won’t start.

I tried booting with a Windows 98 disk, but it can’t detect the hard drive.

Norton Disk Doctor finds several system files have been deleted, but can’t recover them.

I’m looking for a way to boot the computer, access the hard drive files and repair/reinstall the damaged system files so XP will boot up again.

Any help in tests or direction for tools to use would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
