I recenlty installed windows xp pro (was vista) to my xps m1330 and one thing i noticed: sometimes (yes, not always) when shutdown is completed hdd doesn’t stop smoothly or slowly but stops suddenly making a “click” noise. I dont know if this is the right description, maybe it doesnt stop so suddenly but it gives me that impression. it is a bit like when you press shutdown button for 5 seconds and force it to shutdown. it makes a “click” noise similar to that.
I have not noticed any abnormailities during shutdown process or any other symptoms while running windows. this only happens when shutdown is completed.
why this could be happening? any ideas at all? Im worried that hdd may fail seriously one day.
O/S Win XP Pro with installed SATA drivers (during windows installation). hdd:250gb WD2500BEVT-75ZCT2
Thanks a lot!
